ABOUT ME
Emmanuel Olufelo
Software Engineer
based in Toronto, ON
four years professional experience
at the intersection of business and code
I'm Emmanuel — a software engineer, natural leader, and relentlessly creative thinker who builds things that actually matter. Four years of professional experience. A mind that never runs out of ideas. And a life full enough to make the work worth doing.
Being the eldest sibling shaped how I move through the world. I've always been the one setting the tone, keeping people aligned, and stepping up when decisions need to be made — and that translates directly into how I work. I lead with clarity, communicate with intention, and stay adaptable under pressure. Growing up between Gabon and France made me bilingual in English and French and gave me a natural ease across cultures and communication styles — a skill I bring into every cross-functional team I join. I'm someone people trust, not just to ship code, but to think clearly, move fast, and bring others along.
Ideas & Creativity
Music & Sports
Travel & Culture
Stories & Screen
Outside the editor, I'm a sports obsessive. Basketball, soccer, hockey, football, baseball — I watch it all, and I run fantasy leagues because I like having skin in the game. When I'm not watching, I'm playing: soccer, pickleball, swimming, or putting in work at the gym. Music is always on. And when I slow down, I gravitate toward long-form storytelling — Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Snowfall, Survivor, Big Brother, and whatever anime I'm deep into at the moment. I believe a full life makes you a sharper engineer.
I'm also someone who generates ideas constantly — product concepts, side projects, solutions to problems no one asked me to solve yet. That creative restlessness is what keeps my work from feeling like just a job. On my bucket list: watch a World Cup match live in the host country, road trip across Japan, and go skydiving at least once. I travel when I can, and I plan to do a lot more of it. There's always somewhere new to go and something new to build.
